KIAsia’s mission is to promote sustainable development in Asia. The Institute focuses on eight key areas: Business Policy and Competitiveness; Community, Corporations, Environment; Public Health; SMEs and Entrepreneurship; Tsunami Recovery; and Youth and Education.

KIAsia has worked in a number of countries in Asia, including Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and other countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

KIAsia has been approved as a Thai charitable organization, tax exemption #350.

Kenan Institute Asia (KIAsia) is the operational name of the Kenan Foundation Asia, a Thai non-profit foundation, with a Thai-US Board of Trustees.

From time to time Kenan Institute Asia administers grants for specific purposes.
