Youth Development & Innovative Education Perhaps the greatest long-term invest in sustainable development a country can make is the investment in their youth and the continuing investment in education and community work force development. By equipping youth with leadership and creative thinking skills, technical and business knowledge, and combining it with social and environmental awareness, K.I.Asia is training the youth of today to be the community, business and scientific leaders of tomorrow. By working to improve the job skills of people in local communities in areas such as entrepreneurship and ICT, K.I.Asia is also helping to improve the employment prospects of community members and the sustainability of local communities.To accomplish this, K.I.Asia’s team introduces proven policies and practices, adapts new approaches, builds local capacities, conducts pilot and full programs, and institutionalizes programming into the educational and vocational system (including schools, universities, vocational colleges, government agencies and community learning centers). Working closely with corporate and government clients to design and implement programs, facilitate volunteer participation and communicate the program’s impacts, K.I.Asia’s team serves as trainers, advisors, match-makers and project managers. Furthermore, K.I.Asia’s customized programs facilitate collaboration among families, schools, school districts, community leaders, local governments, the Ministry of Education and private companies. K.I.Asia’s innovative education services include stakeholder management, enhancing school leadership, project management, teacher professional development, qualitative research and project evaluation. With an ultimate goal to create a sustainable impact on social development, the K.I.Asia’s team works closely with project stakeholders, from policy makers to practitioners, who play an important role in sustaining the program. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) K.I.Asia is the leading provider of CSR services in Thailand. We offer training, assessment & evaluation, policy & strategy development, program design, project implementation and research services. We equip private companies with practical tools necessary to implement strategic corporate citizenship programs, and advise governments on CSR policy. With more than a decade’s worth of practice developing and implementing corporate social responsibility activities, our services and experience are unmatched in the market. - Training K.I.Asia provides training for corporate executives and managers in corporate citizenship through open courses, executive briefings, and customized programs. K.I.Asia offers English and Thai-language courses on: (1) Developing Strategies for Corporate Community Engagement; (2) Building Effective Employee Volunteer Programs; (3) Evaluation and Measurement; and (4) Communicating & Branding.
- Research & Knowledge Sharing K.I.Asia conducts research in corporate social responsibility practices. Some of our past research projects include the State of Corporate Citizenship in Thailand, Consumer Behaviors and Attitudes, Thailand Report on CSR for Corporate Social Responsibility in the APEC Region, Current Status and Implications towards CSR, ISO 26000, and Strategic Philanthropy after the Tsunami.
- Advisory Services K.I.Asia’s team of CSR experts provides assessment & evaluation and policy & strategy development on CSR policy design, conducting community and firm assessments, planning corporate – community programs, and establishing volunteering programs. Moreover, K.I.Asia also develops a monitoring and evaluation approaches and works with companies to prepare social reports. K.I.Asia also provides support to organizations judging the CSR performance of leading local, regional and international companies, such as the 2008 ASEAN Business Awards, the annual American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand CSR awards, and the Asian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility’s annual award.
- Project Design and Implementation K.I.Asia works with clients to design customized CSR programs and effective community projects that keep employee volunteers engaged with stakeholders throughout the year. On a select basis, K.I.Asia professionals manage larger community and youth based multi-year projects that involve multiple stakeholders and have the highest level of corporate visibility.
Entrepreneurship, Business and Economic Development K.I.Asia provides training and consulting services (one-on-one and group) to entrepreneurs and SME owners and managers at all stages of a business’ life cycle. K.I.Asia capacity building services include consulting, training and seminars for SMEs (and large corporations), as well as government officials, state enterprises and small financial institutions. K.I.Asia also works with business associations (such as chambers of commerce) to build their capacity (as well as member capacity) and to assist them with membership outreach and to conduct applied research. Focus areas include business plan writing, management, logistics, human resources, IT, exporting, financial management, marketing, benchmarking and cluster development, and franchising. K.I.Asia provides specialized assistance to small, community entrepreneurs through the Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (REAL) training program developed in the United States and adapted by K.I.Asia for use in Thailand. The REAL program consists of training to improve the skills of existing and potential entrepreneurs. The REAL methodology emphasizes "learning-by-doing" through activities and experiences following the "Experiential Learning Cycle" concept. The program’s hallmark is relevance, ensured through case studies, practical applications, and frequent interaction both among participants and between participants, instructors, and topic area experts. For financial advisory services, K.I.Asia provides financial policy training for government and bank officials (especially for SME and microfinance lending policy). For SMEs, entrepreneurs and community savings groups, K.I.Asia offers financial project management and training in financial literacy, financial incubation and microfinance, microsavings and microinsurance. The financial advisory team works closely with clients through workshops, seminars, training and one-on-one consultancy services. Sustainable Tourism The tourism industry in Southeast Asia offers special opportunities to provide sustainable livelihoods to local communities, while preserving both the natural environment and local culture. Starting with our program to assist with the recovery of coastal communities hit by the 2004 tsunami, K.I.Asia has implemented a holistic approach to tourism development through engagement of local communities, businesses, tourists and governments. The K.I.Asia model of tourism development is a powerful tool for protecting important natural sites, providing economic benefits to local communities and marketing key tourism centers to increase overall community sustainability and improve the competitiveness of tourism destinations. To assist destinations in meeting sustainable tourism goals (providing local economic benefits, community participation and preservation of the environment), K.I.Asia provides training, consulting, program design, action research and stakeholder dialogue services. Specifically, we help with tourism destination marketing and management, cluster competitiveness, tourism entrepreneurship development, tourism business consulting, handicraft and product design and marketing, community-based and eco-tourism development, biodiversity and tourism development, and sustainable tourism education. Government Economic Capacity Building Programming While the effects of community or more localized programming often has an immediate impact on those receiving assistance, activities to create an enabling environment for economic growth must go hand in hand to ensure sustainability. As such, work to support and build the capacity of government officials, policy makers and business leaders in developing and promoting a strong enabling environment for investment must be a part of any sustainable development plan. K.I.Asia has been working to develop, manage, and implement technical assistance and capacity building projects aimed at improving the business enabling environment and national competitiveness in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam since 1994. Our projects have included Thai and regional competitiveness, investment and trade facilitation, and intellectual property rights projects supported by the Thai government, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the private sector, as well as the Business Support Organization Partnership program funded by the US Government, which supported and facilitated the economic recovery of Thailand and Vietnam after he Asian Financial Crisis of 1997. K.I.Asia provides project management, project design and development, capacity building, training and research services for governments, government agencies, quasi-state enterprises, state banks, professional associations and universities.
