The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) and the Board of Trade of Thailand in association with The Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Bankers’ Association and the Kenan Institute Asia will be holding the ASEAN Business Awards 2008. The aim of ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) is to recognise ASEAN companies that have contributed to the growth of the ASEAN economy, as well as to showcase promising ASEAN SMEs that could become global players. The ABA 2008 will be presented to 8 "Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise" winners from large enterprises and SMEs during the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) which is organised by the ASEAN-BAC annually to coincide with the ASEAN Summit. This year, ASEAN BIS is being held in Bangkok, Thailand on 13-15 December 2008. The awards will be conferred in four categories: Growth; Employment; Innovation; and Corporate Social Responsibility. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony Gala Dinner of the ASEAN-BIS on 15 December 2008. The Kenan Institute Asia (K.I.ASIA), a Thai non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the sustainable development and competitiveness of the region, is the ABA 2008 Strategic Partner and has helped to conceptualize the framework of the awards.
